Since 2021, Echoing Green has made follow-on funding investments in Fellow-led organizations addressing systemic issues that reinforce racial and ethnic disparities in their communities.
New Fellows receive seed funding from Echoing Green during their 18-month Fellowship. But data shows that promising social enterprises—especially those led by people of color across various issue areas—have proportionally less access to capital to scale their organizations. Organizations like Echoing Green and others fight back against this trend by working to build equitable capital solutions to ensure great leaders and organizations can not only survive, but flourish.
To sustain strong ideas and leadership, Echoing Green is distributing follow-on funding to promising leaders and enterprises from the community, knowing that these organizations—and their sharp solutions for building equitable community outcomes—are needed now more than ever.
Funds will support organizations seeking to refine and scale their work toward racial justice in the U.S. and globally. Grants for this round of follow-on funding total $2M; grant categories include catalytic grants to support pilot projects and invest in operations ($25K), collaborative grants for joint initiatives ($50K), and transformational grants to scale proven models ($100K).
